Orignal Project Scope
Haitian Children's Aid Society (HCAS) has been working with the Haiti Children's Home, an orphanage, for more than five years. They have been providing financial support to this orphanage to allow children, local workers and support staff a loving place. The financial support provides food, shelter, medical and educational needs to the home and local people. The ministry exists to show Christ's love in the simplest of forms, to feed and clothe the hungry and show love where love does not always abound.
The Haiti Children's Home suffered severe enough damage from the 2010 earthquake to require all the children and staff to live in makeshift housing. The Children's Home is also in the floodplain of the Artobonite river, and while they were protected from a flood that happened in 2009, they realize that it's best to be in a safer location.
Approximately 4-acres of land between Mirebalais and Port-au-Prince have been purchased to build a compound to enclose an orphanage, kitchen area, volunteer housing, a missionary house, and possibly a medical clinic to provide some medical care to the community.
Will you prayerfully consider joining the team to plan out the compound design? You will be helping HCAS show the community the love that Jesus has for all people by caring for the poorest of the poor.
