Original Project Scope
ICM Burundi was granted 25 acres of property just outside of Bujumbura near the shores of Lake Tanganyika and are seeking to establish a seminary, an English language institute and a technical college. Their desire is to become a catalyst for the spiritual transformation of the country through Bible teaching and training.
The goal is to establish an inservice theological seminary that is part of ICM's Africa Theological Seminary network. The facility would also house the Burundi English Language Institute, which is being developed at the request of the government to help facilitate the transition into the East Africa Community. The government has also asked that ICM develop a technical college that can help train young rebel soldiers who have laid down their weapons. The goal would be to provide basic skills to help integrate these young people into the process of nation building.
Burundi is one of the five poorest countries in the world. Civil war, poor governance, and a bad colonial experience has left it in great need. But the need is also an opportunity to bring Godly teaching and training that can help the people of Burundi develop physically and spiritually.
