God's Littlest Angels - Orphanage
June 2007
In May 2007, a team made up of architects, engineers, and hydrogeologists from eMi went to Haiti to assist in the design of a new orphanage complex run by God’s Littlest Angels.
The team met with the ministry directors, John and Dixie Bickel, to draft a master plan for the newly purchased site.
The final design on the the 2.5 hectare site called for facilities to accommodate 200 children and 70 staff and volunteers. The main building, referred to as the orphanage, will include accommodations and kitchen facilities for the babies, toddlers, and some staff, as well as a common area and administration. Other buildings on the site will include a house for the Bickel family, a guest house, a school, a maintenance shop, and a guard house.
Detailed construction drawings have been completed for the Baby House and the Central Core portions of the main facility. Water, sewer planning and construction details have also been completed.
